She pulled back to look at him and he matched her gaze. The affectionate gesture of placing her hand on his cheek soften the words she spoke next. He wasn't sure what he'd been expecting her to say. He wasn't even sure he heard her right. It took him a moment, letting it process. Didn't she have an implant? He thought she did. He was pretty sure that it had come up in not so many words. His brow furrowed and at first he didn't say anything. He wasn't mad. He wasn't anything, really. "You're pregnant..." he repeated quietly back to her, trying to confirm that's what she really meant.
