John caught his breath, moving so that he could lie down beside her, arms wrapped around her back. He nuzzled in against her hair, breathing deeply and exhaling slowly. His eyes drifted shut and he waited, hearing her words, but not meeting them with his own. He had already said all he could that evening and though just now there was probably something he should say, he couldn't exactly find words for it. For now, living in the silence of it all was good enough. The news of the pregnancy, the proposal... it was all very sudden and it was hard to truly grasp what could be in store for them. He didn't doubt it would be different and difficult, but rather that it would be some kind of adventure.
