Although she would've adored to hear the man scream, the dorm walls were too thin for such a thing to be practical. She didn't want any interruptions, and since Gaila was the only one who knew anything about this, she knew they were in the clear. They could spend all night on Johnson if they wanted to.

When Chapel equated the experience to a holovid, she laughed softly. "It just so happens you've picked my very favorite," she said, flipping the knife to dig the hilt into Johnson's open wound. They could maximize pain by varying sensation, though she was more than a little excited to see what Chapel's bag of tricks could do.

Her eyes tracked the movement of Chapel's scalpel; it looked like such a beautiful, precise instrument that she couldn't help but admire it. "It is rather plain, isn't it? I'm sure we can fix that."

For the first time she addressed Johnson. "You're going to regret causing me trouble," she said, voice so low it was almost a purr. "Unless of course you want to apologize?" She wasn't going to give him the chance - and it certainly wouldn't stop her from torturing him - but giving him a little hope and then taking it away sounded like fun.
