[Chocolat Verse - Mr. and Mrs. Luvwig]

Since the Enterprise had been ordered to rescue Commander Turrow from captivity, they had worked ceaselessly to find a way past the Lorian defenses, but to no avail. There was simply no way to storm the mansion where he was in all likelihood being held. The only way they were going to get past the energy shield surrounding the estate was to be invited inside.

That was how she'd ended up walking into the grand hall arm in arm with Jim under the aliases Mr. and Mrs. Luvwig, a wealthy couple who were quietly involved with illegal arms sales. Despite her warm smile and feigned interest in the floating spheres that illuminated the room, she had a careful eye on the other guests.

The irony of pretending that they were only pretending to be a couple wasn't lost on her, and despite the dangerous situation she found herself enjoying the fact that she could freely hold his arm like this in public. Seeing him in a tuxedo certainly didn't hurt, either. She flashed him a slightly mischievous smile. "Darling, I think I see our hosts. Should we go say hello?"

"Really?" he murmured. "I've seen four." And then he was resting his free hand on her arm as he led her over to the hosts. As a general rule, Jim didn't trust Lorians as far as he could throw them and the mistress of this house, he didn't trust as far as he could probably even shove her. Her husband was far from the brains of the opperation, but still no one Jim was going to have drinks with. Not by choice, anyway. This was necessity. This was duty. This was also bullshit and making Jim want to drop the act and just case the place. Somehow. He'd work it out if he weren't talking the peaceful approach.

"Ah, hello there, Mister and Missus...?"

Mister and Missus Spotted Before Jim Could Make The First Contact Himself, damnit. He gave a friendly smile. "Luvwig. I'm Jim and this is my wife, Nyota." It had been decided during talks that first names wouldn't affect much of anything. Not so long as there was no reason to connect the so-called Luvwigs to the Federation. Now, though, there was a moment of weird because he'd just refered to Nyota as his wife. And liked it in an oddly masochistic sort of way.

“Who did I miss?” she asked a little wryly, glancing around the room again, the smile still on her face even though some of the beings here made her skin crawl. Their top priority was the rescue mission, but this was a gathering of people who belonged in prison, and she really hoped they'd have a chance to do something about it. Their hosts greeted them before they had a chance to start conversation themselves, and she smiled politely as Jim introduced them, ignoring the strange little jolt that went through her when Jim called her his wife.

“Such a lovely, lovely couple,” the master of the house chortled, practically beaming at them. “You have a stunning wife, Mr. Luvwig.”

“It's lovely to meet you both,” Nyota said.

“Dear, you've forgotten your manners. You haven't even introduced us,” the woman at his side chided. She cast a penetrating gaze at both of them, eyes lingering on Jim a little longer than Nyota would've liked. Thankfully it wasn't a gaze of suspicion, but Nyota was not fond of the way the woman's eyes trailed over them. “I'm Aneva, and this is Perovi.”
